Your Lizensa account holds your keys, downloads and invoices, so it deserves the same care as your email account. This page covers the ways to sign in, how to recover access and the security settings you can switch on.
Ways to sign in
On the sign-in page you can choose:
- Password: your email address and password.
- Magic link: enter your email address and select Send magic link. We email you a link that signs you in. This works only for an email address that already has an account.
- Continue with Google, Continue with GitHub or Continue with Facebook: sign in through that provider.
You placed an order as a guest? Checkout still created an account for your email address. Use the magic link, or set a password as described below.
Forgotten password
- On the sign-in page, select Forgot password?.
- Enter your email address and select Send reset link.
- Open the link in the email and set a new password with at least 10 characters.
The page always says that a link is on its way if an account exists for that address. It says this even when there is no account, so that nobody can test which addresses are registered. If no email arrives, check your spam folder and the spelling of the address. If the link has expired, select Request a new link.
Security settings
Open Settings > Security in your account, or go straight to Security settings.
Change your password
Under Change Password, enter your Current Password and your New Password. Choose a password you do not use anywhere else.
Two-factor authentication
With two-factor authentication switched on, signing in also asks for a six-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone.
- Under Two-Factor Authentication, select Enable 2FA.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app.
- Enter the code the app shows to confirm.
- Save your Recovery Codes somewhere safe, away from your phone. Each code works only once.
To switch two-factor authentication off later with Disable 2FA, you need a current code from the app.
Active sessions
Active Sessions lists the devices where you are signed in. Select Sign out next to a single device. To sign out everywhere else at once, select Sign out all other devices and confirm with your password. Use this if you signed in on a shared or lost computer.
Change your email address
The email address cannot be changed in the account settings. Contact our support for help with the change.
Your data and closing your account
Under Settings > Privacy & GDPR (privacy settings) you can:
- Download my data: one JSON file with the data we hold about you, including orders, profile, addresses, tickets and consents.
- Delete Account: select Request deletion, confirm and enter your password. A 30-day grace period applies before your data is permanently deleted. If you sign in again during that time, the request is cancelled. Orders are anonymised, and tax records are kept without your identity.
Before you delete your account, save your keys and invoices. After deletion you can no longer open them in the account.
Good habits
- Keep your email account secure too. Anyone who controls your mailbox can request magic links and password resets.
- Sign out on computers that other people use.
- Never share your password or recovery codes with anyone.
If something goes wrong
"This link has expired". Request a new link from the sign-in page. For a password reset, select Request a new link.
You lost the phone with your authenticator app. At the code step, choose Use a recovery code and enter one of your saved codes. This removes the old authenticator from your account so that you can set up a new one. Then switch on two-factor authentication again with your new phone. Without recovery codes, contact our support.
Your orders or keys are missing after signing in. Check that you are signed in with the email address from your order. If not, sign out, choose Magic link and enter the email address used for your order.
